The brutal maps come as the recently revealed that January 2025 was the fifth sunniest on record for the UK as Brits soaked up 61.8 hours of sunshine.
However, the forecaster has predicted that there is a chance of widespread rain in first half of February across the south followed by a risk of some sleet or snow from the east.
meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “The weather is going to change significantly over the next few days across the UK as high pressure arrives and then moves to the east, allowing colder, easterly winds to turn up.”
He explained forecasts for mid-February are currently at a crossroads, being a toss up between a small chance of a very cold easterly weather system bringing “disruptive” snow, the possibility of a more “benign” easterly flow, or westerlies coming in off the Atlantic.

The ’s long-range forecast between February 20 and March 6 also hints at the possibility of some “snow developing”.
It reads: “Weather patterns in the UK are most likely to be slowly evolving.
“It is most likely that high pressure to the east or northeast of the UK will dominate at first in some form or another, but with time this may decline, allowing an erratic transition to rather more unsettled and possibly less cold conditions.
“During this transition there is the possibility of more prolonged rain or snow developing, at least for a time, but confidence in these details is currently very low.”
