“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert said Donald Trump Jr. may be in hot water in Italy after he was accused of shooting a protected duck.
The duck, Colbert said, has a “beautiful deep-orange plumage with a touch of pale white around the eyes” and wondered why the president’s son would have “such hostile feelings” toward it.
Then he showed a side-by-side image of the duck next to Trump’s father, President Donald Trump, who shares an orange/white color scheme.
“Oh my God!” Colbert exclaimed.
Colbert also showed what he called a “pretty dumb” video of Trump out on the hunt. In the video, Trump sinks down in a pit blind, looking out presumably for fowl to bag.
When the camera returned to Colbert, he slowly appeared from the bottom of the screen, mimicking Trump in the blind:
“I made this fort to hide from the ducks,” Colbert said. “They can’t get me in here, and now all this stale bread is mine.”
