Emmerdale’s April Windsor, portrayed by Amelia Flanagan, has been at the heart of a deeply moving plotline. But how old is the actress, and who are her well-known siblings?
In last night’s distressing scenes, viewers saw April giving birth in a gym toilet, only to discover her baby was stillborn.
Tonight’s episode, available on ITVX, shows April being hurried to hospital after she is found lying on a bench.
Her father, (played by Mark Charnock), and Rhona (Zoe Henry) rush to their daughter’s side. While they’re relieved she has been found safe, they are heartbroken to learn that April was pregnant and had lost her baby.

Amelia, who plays April Windsor, is 16 years old. Her character, April, is 15 years old and is the daughter of Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) and (Mark Charnock), as well as the half-sister of Leo Goskirk (Harvey Rogerson).
Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) is also April’s grandfather.
Amelia, hailing from Leeds, first appeared in the Dales in 2014 alongside her mother, Donna (Verity Rushworth). She has since been involved in several storylines, but none as significant as her current one.

She has also clinched the Best Young Actor title at the Insider Soap Awards for three consecutive years and bagged the British Soap Awards’ Best Young Performance in 2015.
Amelia, daughter of Chris and Rachel Flanagan, is part of a talented family. Her siblings, Isabella and Will, also grace the screens on . Will portrays Joseph Brown, while Isabella plays Hope Dobbs.
Despite Amelia and her siblings starring in competing soaps, she maintains that there’s no “sibling rivalry.” At the Inside Soap Awards, she remarked, “It’s never competitive” among them.

In an interview with OK magazine, Amelia’s parents shared insights into raising three children in the spotlight.
Rachel expressed their love for soaps, stating: “We’re big soap lovers, but they don’t get the acting from us; they all just genuinely love it. We love that they all play such different roles.”
She added, “It’s hard to find a good part for a young actor but they’ve all got brilliant, brilliant characters who are very different to them in real life!”
Chris, employed as a manager at TK Maxx, spoke about the demanding schedule: “Quite often it’s leaving the house at 6am and maybe not getting back home until much later in the day.”
He noted his children’s professionalism, saying, “They do it all and just take it in their stride. Amelia doesn’t know any different, really. She’s been in for two-thirds of her life.”
The Flanagan family often updates their fans on their personal and professional lives via social media.
They recently took to social media to share a photo from the latest episode of , captioning it: “Tonight @7pm or now on @itvxofficial, @ameliaflanagan08 is April in a stand-alone episode of @ working alongside @missingpeople.uk with @fred_kettle as Dylan. I’m so proud of you for this one, kiddo.”
Back in January, they posted a tribute celebrating Amelia’s significant milestone on , stating: “11 years ago today, we took you to audition to play a little girl called April Windsor. How time flies when you’re having fun, proud of you.”
