Alison Hammond in stitches as Harrison Ford brutally roasts her with 50th birthday note

Harrison Ford delivered a candid yet humorous birthday wish to Alison Hammond that left her giggling.

ITV’s This Morning started with a bang on Wednesday (February 5) as presenters and Cat Deeley announced to viewers at home that it was Alison’s 50th birthday.

Alison, based in Birmingham, was showered with surprises and presents – among them, a visit from television personality Jeff Brazier.

As Jeff wished her well, he also had another thrill up his sleeve: revealing video messages from Alison’s star-studded circle of friends, along with celebrities she’s interviewed in the past.

Unbeknownst to Alison, Harrison Ford himself contributed to this array of well-wishes, injecting his own unique style into the proceedings.

Ben, back at the helm in the studio, teased the audience with an imminent surprise.

He said: “Now look, we’ve got one more very special message because the whole world globally remembers the interview with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford!”

Playing off of the memory of Alison sharing drinks with the actors in that famed encounter, Ben quipped: “Well, it would appear that Harrison hasn’t stopped drinking since, he sent you this!”

The show cut to a clip of Harrison stammeringly recalling the time Alison spent with him and Ryan Gosling—one morning that clearly flickered in his memory.

“Alison, I remember you were here one morning with my friend Ryan- do you remember Ryan had a drink.” Then, with playful bluntness only Ford could muster, he deadpanned: “They told me you’re 50 years old now. Grow up!”

In addition to the heartfelt messages from various celebrities, Jeff also arranged a surprise performance from the stage production Magic Mike in Alison’s backyard.

Alison Hammond began her journey on This Morning as an entertainment reporter in 2003, following her stint on Big Brother. She quickly became a staple of the show, presenting various segments and making announcements.

In 2021, she was elevated to a primary presenter role, regularly hosting the show alongside Dermot O’Leary on Fridays. Last year, she expressed contentment with her current schedule, stating she wouldn’t want to take on more days.

She explained: “Absolutely not. How could I? I live in Birmingham and do Bake Off and For the Love of Dogs.”

She added: “I never wanted that job. Last year we did extra because we were going through issues, but Cat and Ben will save that show.”

This Morning airs Mondays-Fridays from 10am on ITV1.
