The documentary’s trailer, featuring notable figures such as John McEnroe, , and Becker’s ex-wife Barbara, shows the 55 year old becoming emotional as he recounts his prison experience. “I’ve hit my bottom. But that’s not the end yet, there is going to be another chapter,” he declared.
The fling hastened his split from first wife Barbara
Becker also opened up about his brief encounter with Angela Ermakova at London’s Nobu restaurant in June 1999, following his Wimbledon defeat to Pat Rafter, which marked his final match before retirement.
In the documentary, Becker recalls meeting Ermakova eight months after their encounter, when she revealed her pregnancy. “She came in, she had a big coat on,” he reminisces.
“She took the coat off and she was heavily pregnant. You just can’t believe it. The wake-up call came very late.”

Boris spent a short stint in prison
In his 2003 autobiography, Becker divulged the intimate details of his liaison with Ermakova, which occurred while his then-wife Barbara was hospitalised during her pregnancy with their son Elias.
Becker recounted the moment, saying: “She [Ermakova] looked directly at me, the look of the hunter that said, ‘I want you’. He described how Ermakova passed by the bar twice, giving him “this look.”
He continued: “A little while later she left her table for the toilet. I followed behind. Five minutes small talk and then straight away into the nearest possible place and down to business.”
“Afterwards she went off, I had another beer, paid and went back to my hotel. As there wasn’t any news from the hospital I went to bed around 2am.”
“In the morning I went to Barbara, the pains were a false alarm. We packed up our things and left England. As to the consequences of the previous evening I didn’t have a second thought.”
Eight months on, Becker was informed by Ermakova through a letter that she was expecting his child, prompting him to fly to London to see her. Ermakova gave birth to Becker’s daughter Anna in March 2000, and he subsequently divorced his wife the next year.
“Certainly my straying hastened the split with Barbara,” he conceded. “Every time we discussed things there was this killer argument – what happened in London. I couldn’t handle this and my other problems all together any longer.”
