Taylor Swift is dating the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, but she’s talked about being an Eagles fan

Taylor Swift may feel just a tad conflicted when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off again in a Super Bowl rematch on Feb. 9.

The “Karma” singer, a West Reading, Pennsylvania, native who’s previously voiced her love for the Eagles, also now loves Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ star tight end.

The Chiefs ended up beating the Eagles at the 2023 Super Bowl. By the fall of that year, Swift and Kelce were an item. Swift made headlines for flying across multiple time zones from Tokyo to watch Kelce and the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers at the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Swift attended seven of the Chiefs’ eight home games at Arrowhead Stadium during the regular season. She missed just one home game, on Dec. 8, because it coincided with the final date of her “Eras Tour.”

She also attended the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Houston Texans at home on Jan. 18 and the team’s AFC championship win against the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 26.

Though she’s been donning Chiefs red in Kelce’s honor for more than a year and a half now, Swift previously spoke of her love for the Eagles, the team Kelce’s older brother, Jason Kelce, played for before retiring from the NFL in March 2024 after 13 seasons.Swift made her love for the Eagles known in her 2020 song “Gold Rush” when she sang about her “Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door.”

In May 2023, Swift confirmed the Eagles in the song’s lyrics were the Philadelphia Eagles and not the classic rock act.

“Guys, like, c’mon. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team,” Swift told a sold-out concert crowd at the Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in a video shared by the NFL.

Prior to falling head over heels with Travis Kelce, Swift had also been spotted wearing a custom Eagles jersey, according to ESPN.

The Eagles, for their part, handled Swift’s switching her allegiance to a new NFL team with grace.

On Sept. 25, 2023, a day after Swift showed up to her first Chiefs game wearing red, the Eagles posted a clip on X showing Jason Kelce and teammate D’Andre Swift.
