Emmerdale exit as fans ‘work out’ villager is framed by family member for Anthony’s murder

Emmerdale’s gripping plot thickens as fans speculate that Cain Dingle, portrayed by Jeff Hordley, might be framed for murder by his vengeful half-brother (Will Ash), following a scandalous affair with Caleb’s wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly).

Last week’s spine-chilling episodes showed Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) believing he had accidentally killed Anthony (Nicholas Day) upon discovering his past abuse against a young Ruby.

In a harrowing turn of events, it was disclosed to viewers that Ruby was, in fact, the one who delivered the deadly blow, although Aaron and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) believed they were responsible and went ahead to hide the body while masking their tracks.

The plot twisted again when Ruby confessed to Aaron that she was the ‘true’ perpetrator. Meanwhile, uncertainty hangs in the air as the location of the body remains a secret, with only Anthony’s tooth left behind a clue that could pin the murder on an unsuspecting villager.

In the latest episode, Caleb dramatically confronted Cain after learning about his tryst with Ruby, reports .

While Cain maintained innocence in the face of Caleb’s allegations, assuring him such betrayal would never happen, questions linger over Caleb’s belief in his half-brother’s words and whether he harbours revenge.

During their tense conversation, Caleb disclosed, “It was Anthony who told me,” revealing the source of his suspicion. Cain’s calm response was telling: “This being the bloke who abused his own daughter and got her pregnant.”

“Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. I have been thinking it as well,” Caleb confessed.

“That he was just trying to get under your skin,” Cain chimed in.

“Are we ok?” Caleb queried, exhaling a breath of relief before spilling the beans about Anthony’s demise. He revealed that they had utilised Cain’s garage to stash Anthony’s car, potentially implicating the Dingle stalwart if the police discovered it.

“That’s why I need you to cover,” Caleb implored as Cain retorted: “Otherwise, I drop you all in it.”

“Far from it,” Caleb continued. “I will do whatever it takes to protect my family, and that includes you.”

Wrapping up their earnest exchange, Caleb proposed: “Shall we hug it out?”

Yet, after their intense encounter, some viewers speculate that Caleb might frame Cain for murder.

A fan speculated on a Facebook group: “I think Caleb put Anthony’s tooth in Cain’s pocket when he hugged him.”

“That would make sense, payback for the affair,” another concurred.

While another beseeched: “Ahhh, hope not.”

One asserted: “I can imagine Caleb framing Cain to save Ruby.”

Another enthusiast pondered: “Caleb trusts Cain that he didn’t sleep with Ruby, but does he?”
