And Guehi was earmarked for what would have been a blockbuster deadline day deal. claim that an offer worth up to £70million has been rejected by as the Eagles deem it too late in the window to sign a replacement.

Guehi has been linked with virtually every top club over the past year, and the fact he has less than 18 months left to run on his deal has put Palace in a tricky position. Spurs and other suitors are expected to revisit their interest in the summer.

Disasi was a player of focus, but now claim that Spurs are ‘out of the running’. are expected to offload the Frenchman, at least on loan, but they are reluctant to do business with his other suitors, Aston Villa.

Spurs are 14th in the table and miles away from the top-four race, whereas Villa are only four points off the pace. therefore feel that sending Disasi to Villa Park could boost Unai Emery’s Champions League push at their own expense.

Disasi, 26, has only made six league appearances this season and he didn’t play any role in ‘s 3-1 defeat at last time out.

With hours remaining in the window, time is running out for to bring in the second defensive signing Postecoglou wants. After the Brentford game, the Aussie made it clear that he hoped more business would be done this winter.

“It’s great to get Kevin [Danso] in,” he said. “We desperately need a defender. He’s a great fit for us. He’s got all the attributes we look for. He’s at a stage in his career where he’s desperate to kick on and make an impact.

“The club is still looking for [other] opportunities. We’ve been working hard. We don’t want to bring just anyone in, sometimes that takes a little bit longer which is frustrating for everyone. We’re really pleased we’ve got Kevin in, he’s a good fit. And if we can get another one, that would be great.”
