Halifax bank has issued a message to customers
Angry Halifax customers have lashed out at the bank online after missing payments and not being able to transfer money this morning.
Just days after a massive outage, , along with its owner bank , has been hit with problems of its own.
Fuming bank customers took to X this morning to report that they couldn’t pay their rent, receive money or transfer cash.
Others worried that they had missed direct debits and not been credited with money they had received.
:
One customer asked the bank via Twitter: “Halifax issues statement as customers’ payments not going through.”
Another said: “An important payment left my account this morning but I don’t want to pay interest if it does not arrive to the recipient on time. I have also not been credited with an incoming payment. What is going on – any updates please?”
A third added: “Why aren’t I receiving bank transfer money into my account? It’s always instant but it’s been over an hour and I need to pay my rent?! what the hell is going on.”
Another said: “I am missing an incoming fast payment which is urgent – what’s happening?”
Another said: “Your online banking is down. Sent two payments this morning and not received.”
Halifax then issued a statement: “Thanks for getting in touch. We know some customers are having issues making or receiving payments. We’re sorry for this and are working to have everything back to normal. Will.”
Lloyds Bank has also been hit with problems as it urged customers not to make payments again if they had not gone through.
Customers of both companies—which are both part of the Lloyds Banking Group—reported issues with their banking apps early on Monday. Users claimed they had issues making and receiving payments.
The issues come after a major outage hit Barclays on Friday and carried into the weekend, which the bank said was a “technology issue” and left many customers unable to access funds or make payments.
According to service monitoring website Downdetector, issues for Lloyds and Halifax started at around 7am on Monday, with several hundred people reporting issues with the two apps.
