BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent was forced to issue an apology during the latest instalment following an accidental mishap which left viewers cringing.
, 53, was back on screens on Monday morning (February 3), covering the latest headlines alongside her co-host Jon Kay.
During the show, Sally and Jon, 55, participated in a heartfelt interview as they spoke to former veterans Bob Marshall and Angie Reid about how they worked on building a 30-foot replica of a Viking longboat that is set to sail.
Bob, Angie and other service men and women had been working on the boat for several years and used their time building the ship to help them boost their mental health.
However, during the live interview, which was conducted via video link, communication between the guests and the presenters was stifled as they failed to hear each other.
Sally accidentally spoke over her guest
This led to Sally accidentally talking over Bob as she tried to direct her question to Angie.
Realising her mistake, Sally said: “I’m so sorry for interrupting you, Bob!”
However, Bob also failed to hear Sally’s apology as he continued on his line of thought until there was a brief silence during the interview, which evidently disrupted the flow.
Noticing things not going as smoothly as planned, viewers at home quickly picked up on the uncomfortable moment and headed over to social media site X to share their thoughts.
One viewer said: “This interview is a bit excruciating.”

Picking up on Bob’s reaction, another spectator wrote: “Bob not keen on being interrupted.” A third viewer sarcastically said: “This item is going well.”
Meanwhile, another unimpressed fan penned: “I thought last week’s ‘sticks’ interview was s***. This is next level.”
Despite the initial confusion, Bob eventually got the chance to express himself during the interview.
Talking about how support needed to keep the project going, he said: “We are just looking after those who want to join us, we can’t do everything, we’re massively underfunded.
“There is some support out there, the general public are pretty much in favour of our veterans but getting funding to do projects like this, its not so easy!”
Breakfast airs Mondays-Sundays from 6am on One.
