Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are close friends
sensation Paul Hollywood faces a daily battle with sweet treats on the popular Channel 4 show, yet he has mastered the art of moderation over time. The esteemed judge, now 58, confessed that he had gained more than a stone during the lockdown, prompting him to revamp his lifestyle and eating habits completely.
A few years back, disclosed his decision to quit alcohol as part of his health kick, adopting a significantly healthier lifestyle to maintain a lean figure. “I’ve actually lost a stone. In fact, just over,” he shared with the Mirror.
“I am working out a little bit doing a bit of walking and running and tinkering… just watching what I’m eating really.”
The culinary expert went into detail about his diet regimen, highlighting the same level of care for his food intake as he does for avoiding certain items. As he prepares to present The Great New Year Bake Off, airing Friday, January 3, at 7.40pm on Channel 4, elaborated on his dietary efforts to ensure only the proper nourishment reaches his plate.
“Every morning I have a couple of eggs from the farm down the road and I make my own toast”, reports .

“It’s chunky eggs and soldiers, and then in the evening, I might treat myself to another slice of bread with tomato soup. I’m on about 1,100 calories a day. I drink about two litres of water as well. I haven’t had alcohol for about four months,” he detailed.
Paul , the beloved TV chef, has seen his star rise in the US as American audiences get a taste of Bake Off on , where it’s known as The Great British Baking Show. In a candid chat with the streaming giant, Paul opened up about the show’s cheeky humour, which can sometimes be a “problem” due to the suggestive shapes that emerge from the oven.

“The problem is, it’s quite a tactile thing, bread-making or whatever, so certain shapes can look a bit rude on camera,” he confessed. The combination of this and Prue Leith’s mischievous banter often leads to mayhem.
He reminisced about a moment when Prue’s risque comment on a beaver-shaped cake had everyone in fits of laughter, forcing him to take a break from filming.
“She’s embarrassing; that’s what she is,” Paul remarked. He recounted how Prue’s knack for innuendo left him speechless during a segment on sausage rolls: “I mean, Prue will say it, and I’m sure she’s saying it deliberately. We were doing sausage rolls, and she said to a guy, ‘I don’t think your sausage is big enough,’ and I just stopped and I said, ‘I’m sorry, I’ve got to leave for 10 minutes,’ so I walked out the tent.”
