Aussie star Damon Heta has revealed his lavish new purchase after winning £60,000 for his dramatic nine-dart leg at Ally Pally last month. In his World Championship last-32 clash with Luke Woodhouse, after eight perfect darts.
Despite going on to lose the match, the moment was widely celebrated and meant tournament sponsors Paddy Power had to fork out a massive £180k.
That was due to the betting company’s pledge to give 60k to any player who achieved the feat – and the same amount to Prostate Cancer UK and one fortunate fan in the audience.
On Thursday, the 37-year-old claimed . But less than 48 hours later, he was waxing lyrical about a new Rolex watch he brought during the World Masters event in Milton Keynes.
“My heart did skip a beat when that (the money) left my account,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve ever purchased something so big, but I had to do it because I put it out there and I said things, and I’m like….
“And I’m a man of my word, so I just went for it. As soon as that money went in (from Paddy Power) I thought let’s go to the shop. And yeah, sure enough, Milton Keynes had a dealer, and I just bought one mate.”

Heta also conceded he checked his account frequently on Friday morning as he waited for the Paddy Power payout. And by the time he’d finished his toast and coffee, he was 60k richer.
“Yeah, I had breakfast,” he continued. “Obviously, I checked the bank account in the morning, and it wasn’t there straight away. And then after breakfast I checked the account, and the money was there.”
Heta also took to social media to tell fans about his spending spree, writing: “Something to remind myself of the achievement. Shout out to Paddy Power for their great work for @ProstateUK throughout the worlds.”
The Perth-born star seemed to be buoyed by the Rolex when he took on in the second round of the Masters on Saturday. He beat the Welshman 4-3 to set up an enticing clash with world No.1 .
