ITV’s Coronation Street stars who play cousins on the show but are twins in real life

’s long-running soap has seen many of its stars make together, forever forming a lasting connection.

However, some viewers may not be aware that some of the actors have real-life family members who also star in the beloved drama.

This includes the 14-year-old Hope Stape (played by Isabella Flanagan) and Joseph Brown (William Flanagan), who portray cousins.

Hope is the daughter of John Stape (Graeme Hawley) and Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine), while Joesph is the son of Fiz’s brother Chesney (Sam Aston) and Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote).

Away from , the teenagers are, in fact, twin siblings and often share a glimpse into their home lives on social media.

It seems the Flanagan family has dominated the soaps, as their eldest sister, Amelia Flanagan, stars in the rival drama as the troubled April Windsor.

The trio of talent have been praised and received acclaim for their on-screen portrayals.

In a hilarious twist, the 2022 Inside Soap Awards saw Amelia and Isabella both nominated for Best Young Performer, with Isabella ultimately triumphing and taking home the coveted award.

During the red carpet, the star confessed: “There are so many debates at home whenever there are awards ceremonies.

Elsewhere, Amelia revealed that despite their playful rivalry, “it’s never competitive,” and divulged: “I’ve run lines with Bella where she’s played Hope, and I’ve pretended to be a character from , and she’s done the same with me, so it’s fun.”

In an post, the actress was photographed visiting the set as she posed outside the Rovers Return alongside her siblings and ’s young star Jude Riodorn.

According to The Mirror, Isabella shared that she was inspired by her sister and stated: “I’ve wanted to be on TV for a long time, my sister has been in since she was five and I love watching her, my audition was a really fun script and I was so excited when Ology (casting agency) rang my mum to give us the good news.”
