has responded to disgruntled customers criticising his healthy-eating website, following complaints about poor customer service and refund issues.

The 60-year-old, who resigned as co-host of last November, launched the fitness site in 2020 after he impressively lost five stone “without going on a diet”.

He later rebranded it to GreggWallace.health, which according to the site description, promotes “sustainable lifestyle changes”.

The website declares: “Our platform is a testament to the belief that achieving wellness shouldn’t be a struggle. With over 450 nutritious recipes, insights from health specialists, and a vibrant community, we’ve created a sanctuary for those looking to transform their lives.”

However, after a wave of complaints from customers struggling with automatic subscription renewals and seeking refunds, a spokesperson for Gregg told : “The membership renewal policy is very clear and we send out reminder notices by email before any money is taken. Anyone who feels they’ve been incorrectly charged should contact us and we’ll be happy to resolve the situation.”

They added: “Gregg Wallace Health has helped many people, with thousands of members now leading happier and healthier lives.”

Customers can choose from a monthly, six-monthly, or annual plan to access all the resources available, with the latter costing £89.99 and the promise that subscribers can “cancel anytime”.

However, some disgruntled customers have alleged they were unable to cancel their plans and had to go through considerable effort to secure a refund.

One Trustpilot user penned a one-star review, stating: “Getting no reply on [their] email for a refund. Customer service terrible and would not recommend them.”

“Renewed my membership and took the money without any warning, tried to resolve amicably many times but the customer service was horrific and unprofessional,” shared an anonymous consumer.

Another reviewer added: “They took membership renewal money with no notice and are ignoring my daily emails to get it back.”

Other users demanded refunds and accused the site of processing unauthorised renewals while criticising the “terrible customer service”.

On the other hand, some customers have been distinctly pleased with the service provided, with one writing: “A first class service all round, plus the support of others in the group is phenomenal.”

Another penned: “So much choice of wonderful food, easy to use website and unrivalled support. This plan is so easy to follow and really works.”

“I joined late June this year, after trying so many ‘fad’ diets and them not working. I am glad I did, this is the life changing plan that I needed to kickstart me onto the road for a better and healthier lifestyle,” a third reviewer revealed.

The website’s refund policy offers a “freemium version”, allowing potential users to explore the platform before making a financial commitment, but it also states that “refunds are not provided once you have accessed our full intellectual property”.

The policy further explains that “membership can be cancelled,” but due to the immediate, full access provided to their extensive bank, expert advice, and diet framework, these services do not fall under the standard cooling-off period.

This criticism of the presenter’s website follows a challenging period for the star, – a show he had co-hosted with John Torode since 2005 – last November.

The decision came in the wake of alleged sexual misconduct claims from 13 women spanning over 17 years, including Kirsty Wark.

The ex- host was accused of making “inappropriate sexual jokes”, requesting the contact details of female production team members, undressing “too close” to women on the show, and allegedly “groping” three women in separate incidents.

His representatives have released a statement denying these allegations, stating “it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”.
