Barrow-in-Furness in is known for its green landscapes and friendly atmosphere.

“The Abbey is a large site and it felt like it was so tranquil and spacious to walk around. There is plenty of seating areas to enjoy the full views.”

Another popular spot near the is Piel Island which is a perfect place for those who love the seaside.

A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “This was a great day out. We walked around the island beachcombing, had a drink and food at the pub, explored the castle before sitting looking out across Morecambe Bay for an hour or so.

“The little ferry that took us there and back was enough. That was an outing in itself.

“The weather was lovely and the sea was blue. Couldn’t wish for a better day out. We will definitely be back.”
