Coleen Nolan on feeling ‘strong and confident’ and key motivation as she turns 60

has revealed that she is feeling “strong and confident” as gets ready to celebrate her 60th birthday.

The 59-year-old Loose Women star says she is “proud” of her achievements. Coleen first gained fame as a member of the family pop group The Nolans, which sold over 30 million records.

Since joining Loose Women in 2000, she has been reported to earn a substantial salary for each appearance. However, she has admitted that her income is quickly consumed by everyday expenses.

She previously told : “I’m turning 60 feeling strong and confident, and quite proud of what I’ve achieved, especially in the past few years when I’ve achieved it on my own.

“Of course, I still lie in bed at night worrying about how I’m going to pay the bills, but it gives me the incentive to work hard, and that’s good.”

Coleen lives on a six-acre farm in North Staffordshire and admitted that despite her fame, she’s just like everyone else.

Speaking to , she shared: “Money that I make literally goes straight out on bills, the , like everyone, and insurance or whatever.

“So although it looks like, wow, she’s got a lovely life, a lovely little farm, and it is lovely, and I know there’s people a lot worse off, I’ve still got these worries. Especially at the moment, mine is the only income coming in.”

Earlier this month, Coleen was heartbroken when her dear sister . Linda had lived with secondary breast cancer for five years and battled double pneumonia towards the end of her life.

Coleen later shared Linda’s final words before she died at the age of 65.

She told : “When I left that evening, I told her I’d come and visit the next day and she said, ‘Oh, you don’t have to’ and I said, ‘I know, but I will’ and then she said, ‘Col, I really love you’.”

Coleen also held on to the memory of their being filled with “love and laughter”, adding: “My daughter Ciara and I sat with her and we said everything we needed to say to each other. She told us how much she loved us and we told her we loved her. I think she knew it would be the last time she’d see us, but there were no tears.

“Although she had double pneumonia and was on oxygen, she was cracking jokes, being her usual funny self and eating the chocolate people had brought her. She wanted to hear about my new grandson and I showed her lots of photos of him.”
