The woman, Sue, was finding it tough to sand the her bannister, and soon after starting the arduous task, she knew she couldn’t continue, reports .

And the solution she found was something that is always available in everyone’s house. While checking through her kitchen drawer, she spotted her vegetable peeler and decided, after hours of trying and failing, that she had nothing to lose.
Describing it as a success would be an understatement—Sue stated that it enabled her to complete the job in half the time.
She is now thinking of implementing the hack on her skirting boards as well.

Posting to the Extreme Budget DIY and Life Hacks Facebook group, she said: “After spending hours sanding and peeling a number of layers of my upstairs bannister.”
“I was about to give up. I then saw my veg peeler in the drawer! I cannot believe how quickly I’ve got two stair banisters done. I’ve saved a fortune.”
