Breaking: Shots fired in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, police say victim was targeted

Police are at the scene of a shooting Thursday morning in downtown Vancouver.

A message posted to social media just before 11 a.m. said someone was shot near East Hastings and Main streets.

The victim has been taken to hospital and it appears the incident was targeted, said the VPD on X. Police said more details would be available later in the day.

TransLink reported several bus routes have been diverted.
