are reportedly in talks to cut Caleb Wiley’s season-long loan at Strasbourg short.

The 20-year-old completed an switch from Atlanta United last summer before being shipped straight out to ‘s sister club. But after playing only 268 minutes in , Wiley is set to be brought back across the English Channel.

According to , the youngster is in talks over a loan move to until the end of the campaign. Not only would the switch give Wiley a greater chance of securing regular game time, it would also free up another loan spot at Strasbourg.

With Djordje Petrovic and Andrey Santos also spending the season at the BlueCo-owned outfit, Strasbourg had maxed out their quota of loan players from one club. However, Wiley’s departure opens the door for another straggler to take his place.

Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Ben Chilwell have all been left out in the cold by this season. And the unwanted trio could be shipped out of Stamford Bridge to give them a chance of banking minutes during the latter stages of the season.

Chukwuemeka has interest from a range of clubs but indicate the only loan destination would consider is Strasbourg.

The Blues would rather offload the former Aston Villa midfielder permanently if his asking price is met. Chukwuemeka is an exciting talent but he has only made five appearances in all competitions this term.

Dewsbury-Hall has seen more action than the other two, although the majority of his games have come in cup competitions since completing a move from Leicester City last summer. A number of sides have been linked with the 26-year-old, but Strasbourg could be an option if none of them solidify their interest.

Chilwell’s only appearance this season came as a substitute in the 5-0 win over Barrow in September. would like to shift his hefty wages off their books, but he has nothing lined up heading into the final few days of the window.

Strasbourg could therefore come into play if strike suitable deals for Chukwuemeka and Dewsbury-Hall with any one of their other suitors. Otherwise, Chilwell faces the prospect of spending an entire campaign in the wilderness.
