Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker team up in ITV’s new heist drama

ITV is set to thrill audiences with its latest offering, Frauds, starring the formidable Suranne Jones of Doctor Foster and Gentleman Jack fame, alongside Jodie Whittaker, who is celebrated for her role in Doctor Who.

The new drama will see the pair as two “skilled confidence tricksters” who reunite after a decade apart due to a prison sentence.

The official synopsis teases that while Jodie’s character Sam has been enjoying a low-profile existence in the tranquillity of Southern Spain, Suranne’s Bert has been harbouring ambitions in her Spanish prison cell, eager to execute one last heist to cement her legacy.

Frauds is the brainchild of Suranne and Anne-Marie O’Connor, with Anne-Marie (known for Maryland) penning the script.

Suranne shared her excitement about the project: “Working on Frauds with Anne-Marie and Monumental for the last two years has been a wild ride. We took the idea of toxic female friendship and turned it on its head to give the heist genre an emotional heartbeat,” reports .
