Fierce fighting has raged across Kursk
Ukrainian forces killed a top North Korean commander in a brutal battle in , as fierce fighting continues in the region, it’s been reported.
has assembled an army of around 60,000 that includes some 12,000 North Koreans in the border region.
The Russians are desperately trying to drive off their territory some 20,000 Ukrainians.
However, Zelensky’s soldiers are putting up stiff resistance and continue to inflict huge casualties on their enemy.

‘s 22nd Mechanised Brigade wiped out a battalion of North Korean special forces in intense fighting around the village of Malaya Loknya in recent days.
The sector has seen some of Kursk’s closest and most brutal fighting.
Among the dead was their commander, whose body the Ukrainians were able to retrieve after the battle, according to a Ukrainian journalist.
The colonel was leading his troops from the front when units from the 22nd Brigade engaged them.
On close inspection of his kit, he was found to be carrying a Vepr-12 semi-automatic shotgun, which is used to shoot down drones.

Yuriy Butusov, a war correspondent, said in a report from the frontlines: “He really ran up with his own fighters.
“He had two automatic weapons with him at once, and we see quite high-quality equipment.”
Besides the Vepr-12, the North Korean commander had an AK-12 assault rifle, grenades, a Chinese-made radio, and a diary.
The colonel’s heavy combat load was made possible by what Butusov described as the North Koreans’ “very high” standards for physical fitness.
North Korean soldiers have impressed the Ukrainian army with their high levels of professionalism and motivation.
However, they have also sustained massive casualties, which Western defence experts say are unsustainable.
A Ukrainian special forces soldier told Radio Liberty that North Korean units lose up to in the “first minutes” of their assaults.
