Mr Anderson shared on X a report that up to 30,000 migrants who are not able to be returned to their home countries will be held at a new Guantanamo Bay detention centre on the island of Cuba.

He said this morning: “US v UK. USA: Illegal migrants to be sent to a secure detention in another country to keep US citizens safe and act as a deterrant.

“UK: Bring them over in a boat, put them in four star hotels, give them free healthcare, free legal representation and allow them to commit crimes without being deported making our streets unsafe.

“I’m sure we have enough islands to build a detention centre on.”
