ITV fans were devastated when Tom Brittney announced his departure from the ITV detective series after starring as vicar Will Davenport for nine seasons of the popular show.

Fans were introduced to the new vicar in recent weeks, Alphy Kotteram, played by actor Rishi Nair.

As Geordie and Alphy slowly forge a crime-fighting relationship similar to the one he had with Will, fans have called out the show for one recurring issue—they keep mentioning Will’s name and referencing his old character, making it “hard to move on” from his presence on the show.

One fan said on X: “They keep mentioning Will all the time how are we supposed to move on with Alphy if they won’t let us!”

Another penned: “Yes we all miss Will,” and a third added: “Stop depressing me with Will mentions, please.”
