Daniel Levy will be feeling the heat after three senior members of the squad appeared to criticise the club’s hierarchy.

Dejan Kulusevski, and Cristian Romero, arguably the three most important players in the squad, have spoken candidly about the issues starting from the top.

Kulusevski defended his boss after , hinting that the powers above are to blame for their issues: “You can look at the manager, you can look at the players, but it’s bigger than that,” the Swede said on Wednesday.

Son warned against an injury pile-up before the start of the season due to the number of games being played, and the club captain reiterated his message last month.

“I told you before the season, but there are so many games that there are cases where injuries are inevitable,” Son said in December.

“I think we should pay attention to these parts. I’m thinking once again that the club should pay more attention to this.”

Romero, who has been much more direct in singling out those responsible, added: “The last few years, it’s always the same people responsible [at ].

“Hopefully, they [ hierarchy] realise who the true responsible ones are and we move forward because it’s a beautiful club that, with the structure it has, could easily be competing for the title every year.”

Postecoglou has been given votes of confidence from the board despite overseeing a run of 13 defeats in 23 games this season, with eight of them coming in their last 10 matches.

But confidence in the board itself is waning from all quarters of the club after making just one signing, Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, in the January transfer window.

Results have not been good enough under the 59-year-old, especially after who had been beaten in their previous seven matches last time out.

Spurs fans have called for Postecoglou to be sacked, as well as displaying banners reading ‘Time for change’, heaping pressure on Levy and the board to step down after winning just one trophy in 24 years with 16 managers at the helm.

But the lack of new arrivals to help combat the rising number of injuries has certainly not helped Postecoglou or his players, with Spurs down in 15th in the .

Postecoglou has been struggling to cope with an injury crisis for at least two months, with nine players missing from training on Wednesday.

Wilson Odobert, , Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon were all absent for the session before facing Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thursday.

However, he received some positive updates on Guglielmo Vicario, Richarlison, Micky van de Ven and Yves Bissouma after the quartet returned to join the rest of the group.
