ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ icon will return after 14 years amid April Windsor’s return

Emmerdale enthusiasts are speculating that a beloved character may be making a comeback to the village after nearly 14 years.

As regular viewers of the ITV soap will know, April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) has been missing since Christmas Day when her father (Mark Charnock) last saw her.

The teenager was last spotted getting into an unknown car on Boxing Day, and then later seen on CCTV. However, things take a chilling turn as the details of the teen’s ordeal during her disappearance are unveiled in a special flashback episode.

The arrival of PC Swirling (Andy Moore) next week immediately raises alarm for Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry). The couple fear the worst when the officer asks them to sit down before revealing that April has been found – but it’s not all positive news.

In a special episode, viewers will discover April’s heartbreaking story, leaving Marlon and Rhona overwhelmed as Swirling updates them on April’s situation.

Fans have been guessing where April might be, with some suggesting the troubled teen has been staying with her aunt Kelly Windsor (Adele Silva), who first appeared in the soap in 1993 and left in 2011.

During her time in the village, she earned a reputation as a ‘maneater,’ having relationships with Jimmy King (Nick Miles), Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower), and Ethan Blake (Liam O’Brien) among others, reports .

Soap enthusiasts took to social media to voice their thoughts, with one stating: “Why could it not have been something nice. Eg: Gone to visit Scott or Kelly.”

Another suggested: “Scott or Kelly would’ve been ideal to introduce new characters or revisiting previous.”

A third opined, “Honestly it’s Scott or Kelly or one of Bob’s other kids”. Meanwhile, another speculated: “Scott Windsor, Ben freeman has apparently been spotted on set with Adele Silva – a new era for the Windsor’s maybe?”
