Vile vandals who defaced a bowling green with a massive swastika have sparked a police manhunt.
Lancashire Police are on the lookout for “unknown offenders” who trespassed onto Oakhill Park’s top bowling green in Accrington, Lancashire, leaving behind a phallic symbol, the N-word, and a swastika.
The community is reeling from the images showing the aftermath of the incident that occurred on Thursday (January 23), with authorities at a loss as to what tool was used to cause such damage.
The destruction has been labelled “extensive” with predictions that it will take months for the green to be fully restored.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police stated: “Overnight on the 23rd of January 2025 unknown offenders have caused damaged to the top bowling green at Oak Hill Park. Offenders using an unknown instrument, have carved a racist word, and a swastika into the grass.

“This damage is extensive, and it will take months for the bowling green to be completely repaired.”
Social media users have expressed their shock and dismay, with one person admitting: “Blimey, lost for words to be honest with you.”
Another bewildered user added: “What a strange crime.”
A third lamented the decline in community standards, saying: “There’s a lot of low life around here now. Disgusting.”
