Snow in the weekend forecast for Metro Vancouver

Residents could wake up to a winter wonderland on Sunday morning — or just some rain.

The long stretch of sunny weather Metro Vancouver residents have been enjoying will likely turn to rain on Thursday. But with that precipitation and cold weather the region could be in for some snow this weekend.

Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists say the region can expect rain from Thursday through Saturday, with daytimes highs between 3 C and 8 C.

Then, the temperature is expected to drop to -2 C overnight Saturday, and with the sub-zero weather there’s a good chance of snowflurries.

The federal weather agency says that snow could still be falling on Sunday morning, especially at higher elevations.

Overnight Sunday, expect more rain showers or flurries with a low of — 3 C and then it looks like snow or rain for Monday with a daytime high of 3 C.
