Personally, I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. Instead, I like to set goals for myself throughout the year. I believe that goals are the key to long-term growth and improvement, and I set goals in a variety of areas of life — including travel.

My travel goals are not exactly a bucket list, they are more of a plan for what I would like to see and do in the coming months. There are some far-flung destinations on my list, but this year, the travels I am looking forward to the most are close to home. If you are making travel goals for yourself, here are some of the top experiences and best places to visit in Alberta in 2025.

Jasper National Park is ready to welcome visitors back after the devastating 2024 Jasper wildfire and responsible visitation can help the community as it recovers. Spring is one of the best times to visit as it is less busy than the summer months. “Spring is a wonderful time to visit Jasper!” explained Tyler Riopel, CEO of Tourism Jasper. “This year the trails will come to life with regrowth — a testament to Jasper’s resilience. Your visit to Jasper matters more than ever as it will directly support our community’s recovery.“

Jasper is remarkably beautiful in every season and even though the wildfire was devastating, much of the park was untouched. There are still many wonderful sites and experiences to enjoy.
