Plane passengers call for ‘public shaming’ as man caught in ‘gross’ act at airport

A holidaymaker was spotted performing a ‘gross’ act at the middle of an airport, leading others to call him out.

by plane can be stressful, and once you’ve navigated security at the airport, it’s natural to want to unwind and start your holiday on a positive note. However, sometimes fellow travellers can ruin this experience.

One person took to ‘s ‘mildly infuriating’ forum to call out a man for his ‘gross’ personal grooming habits in the middle of the departure lounge, surrounded by other passengers.

“This guy clipping his toes while I waited at the , bleach my eyes,” the user wrote, posting a photo of an unidentifiable man with his bare foot propped up on his seat, slippers discarded on the floor beneath him.

The photo shows another passenger seated two seats away from the man, with the photographer seemingly directly opposite as the man was clipping his toenails.

While there are no explicit rules about personal grooming in public spaces, some behaviours are generally best kept private – toenail clipping being one of them.

The post attracted hundreds of comments, with the majority labelling the man’s behaviour as ‘gross’ and ‘disgusting’.

One user wrote: “This is the kinda guy you don’t even make eye contact with because only a completely murderous psychopath would do this hahah.”

“My unfiltered mouth would have stated in an elevated voice, ‘THAT IS SO GROSS, DUDE!’ but then I’d regret it being so loud,” another user said, and a third added: “Disgusting. Too many people have zero social etiquette.”

Another commenter joked: “As a society, we need to bring back public shaming.”

Another person lamented the lack of basic manners evident when people clip their toenails in public, stating: “There is a subgroup of human beings that think that clipping their toenails outside of their own personal dwelling is somehow ‘okay.’ I see it in the office, at restaurants, airports, FFS. I was raised to classify clipping your nails as personal hygiene activity much like shaving, or brushing your teeth and should generally be done with the same decorum.”

However, not everyone saw the situation as entirely negative, with some trying to find a brighter side, joking, “Could be worse, he could have waited ’til he was on the plane!”
