EDF Energy is giving customers £2,000 if they still have a boiler.

work differently to gas . Rather than take in fossil fuel gas to turn into heat, they draw from the air or the ground outside and warm the air using electricity before pumping it into homes, a bit like an air conditioner running in reverse.

EDF has extended its Heat Pump and Power Tracker bundle which offers a 7 year warranty, servicing and maintenance worth £1,500.
On top of that, customers who sign up before February 12 could get another £500 on top, with the first 50 customers to sign up being given the cash.
Customers can also get a Boiler Upgrade Scheme Grant directly from the government which gives you up to £7,500 towards replacing a boiler with a heat pump.
Those applying to the scheme will have the money paid directly to their energy firm or installer, bringing the total cost down.
Since installing his air source heat pump with EDF Heat Pumps, EDF said customer Geoff has benefitted from a warm home even throughout cold snaps. Geoff said: “We went down to close to -12 degrees, with the winds coming across the valley, and we didn’t have a problem. No problems at all. It just runs and runs.”
Philippe Commaret, Managing Director of Customers at EDF, said: “We want to help as many homeowners as possible realise the benefits of switching to heat pumps, which can be three times more efficient than a gas boiler and cheaper to run.
“Unfortunately, many homeowners get put off by the notion that a heat pump won’t maintain a comfortable temperature when it’s cold outside. We’re so confident about our service that we’re offering a Heat Pump Promise, which guarantees a warm home or your money back.”
