The Masked Singer revealed Teeth on Saturday night’s episode.
The hit ITV series returned earlier this month with a line-up of new celebrity contestants hiding behind elaborate costumes and masks.
The new contestants include Bush, Dressed Crab, Bear, Kingfisher, Pegasus, Pufferfish, Snail, Spag Bol, Tattoo, Teeth, Toad In The Hole and Wolf.
So far, Toad In The Hole was unmasked as Macy Gray, Pegasus was unmasked as Prue Leith, Spag Bol was unmasked as Kate Garraway and just last week Tattoo was unmasked as Carol Decker, reports .
On Saturday night’s episode, which aired on 25 January, Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, Teeth and Wolf battled it out on stage. However, sadly, it was Teeth, who was eliminated and they were unmasked as Mel Giedroyc after going against fellow contestant Bear.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to share their surprise, admitting they had no idea it was Mel, 56, who is best known for hosting The Great British Bake Off when it was on .
One person said: “Well that’s hilarious, I had absolutely no idea it was Mel #TheMaskedSinger”, a different account put: “Love Mel she’s such a lovely funny lady fair play to her! #TheMaskedSinger”, another wrote: “I am obsessed with Mel being Teeth #TheMaskedSinger” while a different viewer added: “mel giedroyc on the masked singer WHATTTT #TheMaskedSinger.”
After the unmasking, Mel gushed: “I’ll take Su Pollard! It’s so nice to see you guys. I love these teeth so much! I was very pleased with Alex Scott. Such a fun show, it’s impossible not to have fun on this show!”
Later, in a post-show debrief with Harriet Rose on The After Mask, she revealed her excitement: “Oh my God, I feel really elated actually. I blooming loved it! I’m sad because my next song was The Pointer Sisters Automatic done as Marlene Dietrich. That would have been fun.”

Reflecting on the experience, Mel confided: “Listen, if you told me you’re going to have a chance to sing the Neighbours theme tune dressed as an enormous pair of wind up teeth with pink tights and big pink flapping feet, I would say I could stop my career now. For me that is the pinnacle!”
When questioned if her good pal and co-star Sue Perkins, who appeared as Dragon on the show in 2021, had given her the nudge to participate, Mel responded with a twist, mentioning: “She doesn’t know!”, before explaining: “No, because she didn’t tell me. She was a Dragon and she never told me. So right back at ya girlfriend.”
Mel also confessed that she’d kept the secret within her household, sharing only with her husband, who seemingly embraced the challenge: “He took it really seriously. The level of training he took me through at home!”
