Fans of The Masked Singer are certain they’ve cracked the code and revealed Bear’s ‘true’ identity. The popular ITV show, which returned earlier this month, features a host of new celebrity contestants hiding behind intricate costumes and masks.
This season’s line-up includes Bush, Dressed Crab, Bear, Kingfisher, Pegasus, Pufferfish, Snail, Spag Bol, Tattoo, Teeth, Toad In The Hole and Wolf. The judging panel consists of Davina McCall, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross, with Joel Dommett as the host.
So far, Macy Gray was unveiled as Toad In The Hole, Prue Leith was revealed to be Pegasus, Kate Garraway was unmasked as Spag Bol and Carol Decker was exposed as Tattoo last week. Now, viewers believe they’ve figured out who is behind Bear’s mask – a 00s hitmaker.

Fans took to Twitter, now X, to share their theories, suggesting that it could be Example’s Elliot John Gleave, who has hit singles Kickstarts and Changed The Way You Kiss Me, reports
One person said: “Bear absolutely is @example Can’t be anyone else!! #TheMaskedSinger”, a different account put: “Definitely Example #TheMaskedSinger”, another wrote: “Bear is Example #TheMaskedSinger” while a different account added: “Bear is Example (Elliot Gleave) #TheMaskedSinger.”
Meanwhile, some show watchers are convinced it could be Anthony Head. Anthony, 70, is best known for playing Rupert Giles in hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997 until 2003. Other roles include the Prime Minister in Little Britain, Uther Pendragon in Merlin and Rupert Mannion in Ted Lasso. Anthony has also done advertisements for Nescafé.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “#TheMaskedSinger I think Bear is Anthony Head”, a different account put: “Bear if he’s a classically trained Actor, who was In a coffee advert, maybe Anthony Head? #TheMaskedSinger”, another wrote: “Bear= Anthony Head. #TheMaskedSinger”, a different account said: “Anthony Head- Bear #themaskedsinger” while another added: “Anthony Head is the Bear. He did coffee ad and is Shakespeare actor #TheMaskedSinger.”
However, some show watchers have also guessed actor Richard Blackwood could be behind the costume.

One person said: “Bear is deffo richard Blackwood his middle name is Clifford #TheMaskedSinger” while a different account wrote: “Bear – Richard Blackwood #TheMaskedSinger.”
Singer Carol, 67, who is the lead vocalist of the pop band T’Pau, was unmasked on last Saturday’s show. Talking about her time on the show so far, Carol said: “I’ve loved it and I’m going to say, I’m gutted! Everybody is amazing. I’m gutted because it’s the best fun ever.”
On Saturday night’s episode, which aired on 25 January, Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, Teeth and Wolf battled it out on stage.
