JD Vance’s first sit-down interview as vice president has been granted to Margaret Brennan, the moderator of CBS’ “Face The Nation.”
The exchange will air on Sunday.
But conservatives on social media expressed their unhappiness at the move.
CBS News political reporter Olivia Rinaldi’s announcement of the news on X, formerly Twitter, prompted a series of scathing replies from people on the right.
Critics falsely ripped Brennan and CBS as “fake news” and said they had sought to thwart President Donald Trump’s successful 2024 bid for the White House.
Many argued Vance’s first interview should have taken place with a conservative publication. Others, however, predicted Vance would do just fine, having already clashed with Brennan when she moderated the vice presidential debate and in an earlier televised sit-down during the campaign.
