Even the most rewarding jobs can have their stressful moments, and being a vet is no exception.

Amir Anwary, who often shares insights into his life as a vet on , recently revealed a major “pet peeve” he has with owners. Despite his love for and dedication to their wellbeing, there’s one thing that dog owners seem fixated on that really grates on him.

In a candid video that has since gone , he shared a typical conversation with a client. He wrote: “Veterinarian: Your dog almost died but we managed to stop the bleeding and had to remove the spleen.”

He claimed pet owners usually reply: “I’m so glad but, um, you forgot to clip the nails.” While the video was made in jest, it highlights a common frustration among vets – the obsession of pet owners with their dogs’ nail trims.

Regardless of the severity of the procedure their pet may have undergone, it seems a lot of them always ask about this one thing. It can be really frustrating for vets.

This is my biggest pet peeve …. Like seriously i cant !!

The clip has been viewed over 50,000 times and sparked a lively debate. One viewer commented: “I’m with the patient on this one, because then I’ll book another nail appointment, which he has to be asleep for, and it’s another $200 (£162.61) bill.”

Another wrote: “We had a dog have a heart attack at its grooming appointment. Luckily we have a vet right next to us, and they were able to get him back, but the owner was upset we couldn’t continue to groom!”

A third chimed in on the financial strain of veterinary care, adding: “The vet bills are insane so it makes sense to get your money’s worth.”

Meanwhile, a fourth also wrote: “I honestly don’t know why most people are obsessed with nail trims, especially when half of the time they don’t need doing.”
