BBC The Traitors finale scheduling change explained as extended episode to air early

The third UK series of The Traitors is drawing to a close, with the grand finale set for tonight (January 24) after a month filled with unexpected plot twists and betrayals.

Devotees of the reality competition will be eager to see if this year’s final can outdo season two’s thrilling conclusion, which saw Traitor Harry Clark secure the substantial prize money from the Faithfuls. He managed this by persuading his closest ally on the show, Mollie Pearce, that he was trustworthy.

Fooled by him, she erased his name from her blackboard at the last possible moment, securing his victory and earning the episode a spot in the reality TV hall of fame for its high drama and suspense.

The third instalment of the unpredictable game show has introduced audiences to a fresh cast of endearing characters. Linda, an ousted player, quickly won over fans and was hailed as an ‘icon’ for her theatrical attempts to hide the fact she was a Traitor.

Despite what viewers dubbed her ‘GCSE acting’, she made it to episode seven before being expelled, reports .

Don’t miss…

This week witnessed the departure of the last original Traitor, Minah, with her new recruit Charlotte opting to add Freddie to the Traitor team in a bid to secure her own place in the final.

Meanwhile, a brand new ‘game-changing’ twist promises to add some extra spice to the castle’s proceedings.

Devotees of the series should note some changes for the grand finale, including an extended episode.

The final episode will air earlier than usual tonight on One and iPlayer, starting at 8.30pm instead of the regular 9pm slot, and will conclude at 9.40pm.

The spin-off show, Uncloaked, will also be broadcast earlier and on a different channel. Instead of its usual spot on Two, it will air on One immediately after the finale. Uncloaked will start at 9.40pm, right after the main show ends, and will finish at 10.25pm.

The Traitors finale kicks off tonight (January 24) at the earlier time of 8.30pm on One and iPlayer. It will be followed by Uncloaked on the same channel.
