fans were left utterly speechless after one lucky player pocketed an impressive £100,000 on the game show.
During Thursday’s visit (January 23) to the ITV studios, beloved presenter welcomed five new contestants onto the evening game show.
The 64-year-old welcomed players Jess, Ali, Stephanie, Jamie, and Jo onto the programme to put their general knowledge to the ultimate test.
The quartet started the game with the usual cash builder round, but unlike its teatime equivalent, the spin-off show gives players the chance to battle it out in a head-to-head round against up to five Chasers for various cash prizes.
Things got off to an impressive start when Jess from Canterbury took home an impressive £30,000 when she took out three Chasers in the speedy round.

Next up to the podium was Ali who failed to beat the Chasers, as did Stephanie from Leicester – both leaving empty-handed. But things took an exciting turn when hairdresser Jamie strutted on stage.
After wowing viewers with his impressive cash-builder round, he gambled everything and took on four Chasers for an eye-watering £100,000 with 39 seconds on the clock while he had the full 60 seconds.
It the nail-biting round, the Londoner managed to stay ahead but just nine seconds, scooping up the impressive winnings as gold confetti rained down from above.
It didn’t take long before fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to congratulate the player on his win online. One user penned: “Congratulations to Jamoe, who has #BeatTheChasers and now has £100k in his pocket! [three praise emojis].”
Another agreed: “Premium television. What a win. Get that p***ed up the wall Jamie #beatthechasers.£ A fourth echoed: “That was so awesome! Congrats to Jamie for winning £100k on #BeatTheChasers!”

A fifth chimed in with: “Congratulations, and well done to Jamie. Enjoy your £00k [heart emoji] #beatthechasers.” However, luck wasn’t on Jo’s side when she stepped up to the podium, also leaving empty-handed.
It comes after Darragh Ennis issued a statement after suffering a record-breaking defeat on The Chase. The pressure was on when finalists Jake, Laura, and Jake attempted to stop The Menace from stealing their eye-watering £75,000.
The 44-year-old, who was once a contestant on show, went on to answer several questions wrong during the final chase, leaving him unable to catch the team’s score.
At the end of the show, Darrah confessed: “I said it was going to be very difficult and realistically, 23 or 24 is about as much as we can catch in two minutes.”
Pointing out his mistake, he contuned: “I got one wrong very early and I started making a few little mistakes trying to go quick. But you set a high target, I wasn’t able to match it. Well done, you deserve the money.”
