‘“Life happens. We have lots of love for each other but sometimes it’s just not enough’
“Life happens,” but this was one quick and quirky turn.
An Australian tennis star revealed she is divorcing her former Australian Football League player husband just days after joining OnlyFans.
Arina Rodionova posted a video with Ty Vickery on Wednesday in which the couple announced that had been separated and are now getting divorced.
“Hey guys, we have a quick announcement to make, we’re getting divorced,” Rodionova said about as nonchalantly as you could when announcing a split from your partner of nine years.
Vickery smirked as he sat in the background of the clip holding a half-eaten banana.
“We’ve been separated for about a year, friends and family know, but we just wanted … the community to know about this situation,” she told her thousands of followers.
“We’re good, we’re good with each other, wish each other the best,” Vickery added, thanking followers for the support.
Rodionova then awkwardly brought her hand up as if to shake Vickery’s, but the ex-AFLer instead placed the banana in her hand as the two burst into laughter.
“Life happens. We have lots of love for each other but sometimes it’s just not enough,” she wrote in the post.
Rodionova followed up the post with an Instagram Story from a plane.
“Bye Australia, love you always,” she wrote, saying she spared her followers by going through her breakup without sharing the usual inspirational quotes.
Rodionova and Vickery had been married since Dec. 2015.
Before launching the OnlyFans account, the Russian-born tennis player had begun posting more racy content on her Instagram feed, including plenty of sexy bikini snaps while on vacation.
Divorce rumours began to spread when she announced she had created an account on OnlyFans on Jan. 12.
“Good news for everyone who was asking. My OnlyFans account was confirmed so here we go. Let’s do this,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
In her bio on adult content site, Rodionova calls herself a tennis player “but a fun one.”
Rodionova, 35, failed to make the main draw of this year’s Australian Open after losing in the second round of qualifiers earlier this month with a straight-set loss to German Eva Lys.
While Rodionova’s singles career was mediocre, she had success with partners on the court, making it to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in both women’s and mixed doubles.
