The Chase’s Jenny Ryan on This Morning
Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan has been a on the since 2015 – but not many fans will be aware that she actually worked on the show before finding fame.
The general knowledge genius has now admitted that she formerly worked behind the scenes as she “set the show off on its road to success” and was already good friends with co-star .
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning the friends and colleagues appeared on the iconic sofa to chat to hosts and Cat Deeley.
Cat addressed Jenny, saying: “You were originally working behind the camera on the show, and Anne where you something to do with how Jenny then kind of became one of the Chasers?”
Anne responded, saying: “Yes. Jenny was one of the question setters on the very first series.” Jenny chimed in adding: “Yeah, I got brought on. There were just two question setters as they were obviously just trying it out and were not hopeful that it would go on forever.
Jenny and Anne were already close before working together as Chasers
“The other person who was writing questions is now an Egghead. So I wrote those questions and set the show off on its road to success.
“And then Anne joined down the road and I was quizzing alongside Anne and she had a little recommendation for me.”
Anne explained saying: “Well she invited me to join her quiz team in Bolton, so we quizzed together for a few years. And then I knew that they were looking for a new female Chaser and I was kind of thinking my way round the quizzing circuit.
“I was thinking ‘well the obvious candidate really is going to be Jenny’.”

The Chasers appeared on This Morning
Jenny went on to explain where her inspiration for her alter ego on the show ‘The Vixen’ had come from. She said: “The producers gave me quite a bit of leeway on the show.
“They wanted me to create my own character, so really The Vixen is me but the confident me that I can be.”
She added that the character makes her feel “stronger and more confident”. “The costume actually really helps with that,” the quizzer continued.
“Being able to put on my suit of armour with the glasses and the big hair. It just makes me feel more confident.”
