The Chase viewers beg contestant to ‘stop’ over ‘annoying’ habit minutes into show

fans were quick to express their annoyance minutes into the show, urging one contestant to ‘please stop’ due to his ‘annoying’ mannerism.

In the episode aired on Wednesday, January 22, Bradley Walsh, 64, was back on our screens with four contenders all aiming for a cash windfall on the popular ITV quiz programme.

The team included Samir from Surrey, Jill from Abergele, Godfrey from London, and Lilli from Cardiff as they prepared to face off against Anne Hegerty, famously called The Governess. They dived into a rigorous battle of wits, showcasing their trivia prowess.

Taking on The Governess first was Samir, who decided to aim for the moderate prize of £5,000. Asked about his plans for any potential winnings, he quipped: “I should invest it, which is a little bit boring but I’d really like to take Maya Jama out for dinner.”

The audience erupted into laughter as Bradley turned to the camera, remarking: “Well there you are Maya, Samir is here for you. She is a lovely girl too.”

Samir triumphed over the chaser, proceeding to the subsequent round, yet viewers couldn’t help but highlight Samir’s tendency to elaborate excessively on his responses and his habit of gesticulating while talking, reports .

Amid a flurry of feedback from viewers on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, The Chase was hit with criticism over extensive explanations given by one contestant. “I can’t cope with all his long explanations #thechase,” one viewer complained. (sic)

Another fan echoed the sentiment, writing: “Are the explanations necessary? ? Please stop! #TheChase.” (sic)

Further comments pointed out the contestant’s style presentation, with a third viewer posting: “This dude thinks he’s making a Turning to Bradley after each answer to explain it and using his hands Possibly one of the most annoying things I’ve seen on this show.”
