The picturesque village of Ardross, which is nestled in the Scottish Highlands, has recently garnered recognition as the filming location for the hit series .
Despite the area boasting a mix of historical architecture and charming landscapes, Ardross still has an affordable housing market, making it a good spot for new investors.
Ardross Castle is the primary filming location for The Traitors. The 19th-century building was designed in the Scottish Baronial style, complete with turrets, towers, and elaborate stonework.
It is surrounded by over 100 acres of lush parkland along the River Alness, which has provided a dramatic backdrop for some of the trials faced by Faithfuls and Traitors alike.
The castle was originally built on the site of an 18th century hunting lodge owned by the first Duke of Sutherland.

In 1845, it was sold and later transformed into the magical structure seen today. After changing hands several times, the McTaggart family purchased the estate in 1983 and undertook extensive renovations to restore its historical glory.
Ardross Castle is now a privately-run venue, which hosts big events and weddings as well as the reality show.
While the castle itself is not for sale, the surrounding village of Ardross has a surprisingly affordable housing market.
Over the past year, houses in Ardross have sold for an average price of £220,000, which is a significantly lower cost than Scotland’s more urban areas.

This figure represents a 21 percent drop from the previous year and a 29 percent decline from the 2020 peak of £309,738, so despite the fame the area has achieved from being featured in The Traitors, now is actually an opportune time to invest in this idyllic location.
