Kim Kardashian angered some when she posted a photo of first lady Melania Trump to her Instagram Story on Monday afternoon.
Kardashian posted a photo of Trump in her wide-brimmed hat arriving to President Donald Trump’s inauguration that day. The photo didn’t include any caption, leaving fans to speculate whether Kardashian supported the first lady and her husband.
Kardashian’s reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Regardless, people on social media called out Kardashian for supporting Melania Trump.
“Anyone surprised that Kim Kardashian is a Trump supporter hasn’t been paying attention,” one user wrote.
“what? kim kardashian, someone who is notoriously untalented and whose only business model is chasing the ghost of her creative ex husband’s influence is a supporter of the horrible, uneducated, scam artist president? i’m so surprised that two people so similar vibe lol,” another person wrote.
Influencer Blakely Neiman Thornton called Kardashian “disgusting” and said she doesn’t “even have the bravery” to “call the thing the thing.”
“Just be a Republican white woman with your full chest,” Thornton said on TikTok and Instagram. “Stand 10 toes down selling the cars of a man doing Nazi salutes on stage because baby, that’s who you are. Your name is Kim, but you are spiritually a Karen.”

In 2016, Kardashian told GQ that she was a Democrat and supported then-presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. In 2018, during Trump’s first term, Kardashian worked with the president on commuting the sentence of Alice Johnson, who was in prison for life on a first-time drug offense.
In April, Kardashian met with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss criminal justice reform after President Joe Biden issued pardons for 11 people and commuted the sentences of five more who were convicted of nonviolent drug offenses.
