presenter Janet Street-Porter has been slammed by viewers who support President for her criticism of his wife ‘s inaugaration outfit.
Melania, 54, caused a stir when she arrived to watch her husband, 78, get sworn in as the president of the United States a second time on Monday, January 20 in Washington DC.
Melania arrived at the St. John’s Church for the start of the inauguration ceremony in a dark coat from luxury womenswear designer Adam Lippes and a navy boater-style hat by Eric Javits. hat by award-winning designer Eric Javits.
The look drew mixed reactions as some lauded the look as “stunning”, while others mocked the sartorial choice by comparing it to an outfit reminiscent of the French Resistance and even the uniform worn by the British police.
Janet has also waded into the debate as she compared the outfit to a “funeral” outfit. Never one to mince her words, she criticised the First Lady’s divisive outfit and revealed she was not a fan of the look on today’s episode of Loose women.

Following the critique, fans took to X to hit back at the panelist. “Janet Street Porter, dressed as a london bus seat, is critical of Mrs Trumps outfit!” wrote one.
“An outfit for a funeral? Bashing another woman how can she say anything about fashion when she is wearing a cut cup carpet from the 70s.”
It’s not the first time Janet has been critical of Melania. In 2018 she wrote an opinion piece on how the former model and Trump had a bizaree relationship.
“Donald and – who never seem to have mastered how to relate to each other when the cameras are rolling,” she wrote in the Daily Mail.
“There was the time she swatted off his hand on arrival at Tel Aviv airport, and the embarrasing moment when she formally introduced the President at an army base in Maryland, only to have him step up, shake her by the hand, and gesture for her to sit down and shut up.”
