has penned a lucrative contract extension with Bridgestone ahead of the 2025 golf season.

Woods is a long-term partner with the golf ball manufacturer, having been on Bridgestone’s staff since 2016.

What’s more, his iconic Nike balls from the early 2000s were also made by Bridgestone, with Woods’ devotion rewarded in the latest extension.

Speaking after the renewal, the 15-time major winner stated: “Since the beginning, Bridgestone has continued to innovate and lead the golf ball category in terms of technology, performance and consistency.

“They are great at what they do, and I look forward to continuing to work with their R&D team to design industry-leading golf balls.”

It comes as Woods is gearing up for his 29th year as a professional golf player, having made his debut in 1996.

While the number of events he competes at might’ve decreased in recent years, the 49-year-old did feature in all four majors last year – the first time he’d done so since pre-pandemic.

And even though he’s only teed off five times across the last 12 months, Woods is being tipped to roll back the years at Augusta National.

The Masters - Final Round

Speaking at the Sony Open, former US Open champion Gary Woodland told : “He knows that golf course so well, he can play his way around that place blind.

“His speed looked good; he hits it hard still. I wish he’d just get in a cart because if he can walk it, I’ve seen him hit enough balls. He still has all the shots.

“I saw him a month before and he came out and rode around with us and chipped and putted every hole and was moving pretty good. [And] he looked really good at the PNC. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wins another one.”

The Masters was the only major event Woods made the cut at last year, but he could only manage a 60th-placed finish.

Speaking after his elimination, Woods bemoaned the unforced errors that eventually proved costly. He said: “Just hit the ball in all the places that I know I shouldn’t hit it. And I missed a lot of putts. Easy, makable putts. I missed a lot of them.

“I wouldn’t say necessarily [a lack of] mental reps. It’s just that I haven’t competed and played much.”

It’s less than three months until The Masters gets underway at Augusta National.
