Making sure you your properly may feel like an arduous task, but it has to be done.
However, you don’t have to smother gadgets with harsh chemicals to keep them squeaky clean.
One expert tipped a simple as an easy way to banish grime from microwaves.
Food splatters can buy up over time, making it harder to scrap off, but you don’t need to scrub vigorously to make it clean again.
All you’ll need is some lemon essential oil to help rid your microwave of any grime or unwanted food stains.

Doug Rogers, president of Mr Appliance, told : “Add 15 drops of lemon essential oil into one and a half cups of water to a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on high for five to ten minutes, allowing the steam to condense on inside walls/ceilings of your machine.
“Once complete, simply wipe away the softened food with a sponge.”

Kloee Davies also hailed the hack, in a video from 2023, she explained: “Here is a simple hack to steam clean your microwave with ease, if you want you can also add a drop or two of lemon essential oil to the water to give it a fresh smell as well!”
You can place a bowl half filled with water and the lemon oil in the microwave, then put it on to make sure the water steams for three minutes.

Leave it for an additional minute before taking a cloth and wipe away the grime.
Another video from the user @lowcarbchic also demonstrated how to complete the cleaning trick, praising it for being “non toxic”.
She wrote: “Only way to clean that microwave by non toxic chemicals. Essential lemon oil in a cup of water (8 drops. Put in microwave 5 mins, and then let it sit for 5 mins.Happy Cleaning.”
It’s also possible to get equally sparkling results by using water and lemon or lemon juice, microwaving it, and wiping away.
