‘s move to is gathering pace and the German giants reportedly want to announce him as a new loan signing by Thursday this week.
The 27-year-old was again left out of the matchday squad by on Sunday as slumped to a dismal 3-1 home defeat against . Rashford’s departure has been inevitable since the start of the January transfer window, and the international is now close to discovering where he will spend the rest of the season.
Following interest from AC Milan and Juventus, Dortmund are now believed to be leading the race. And according to , they want to announce Rashford’s arrival by Thursday this week so that he could feature against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
BVB are not known for splashing the cash but they are set to fork out for Rashford’s wages between now and the end of the campaign. And that could rise to more than £7m if they keep him on for the Club World Cup in June and July.
Every penny will count for United, who have little room to manoeuvre within PSR limits and will welcome the chance to shift one of their biggest earners off the wage bill.

A healthy working relationship exists between Dortmund and United, having negotiated the deal which took Jadon Sancho from the Westfalenstadion to Old Trafford in 2021. They also thrashed out a separate deal to send Sancho back on loan to Germany 12 months ago.
Another agreement would bring an end to Rashford’s long-running transfer saga and allow him to focus on rediscovering the kind of form that saw him rack up 30 goals in 2022/23.
After getting found out by Brighton, Amorim admitted he might be in charge of the worst United team in history. But he is still unwilling to call on Rashford as he believes the forward’s omission is ‘best for the team’.
“In this moment, Rashford is not here and, in the last games that we lost, Rashford was not here,” said Amorim. “I don’t want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out of this moment because he’s not playing. No matter what, I’m not going to put in a player I don’t believe is best for the team.”
Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 games for United since breaking into the first team as a teenager.
