Jeremy Clarkson says ‘it’s impossible’ as he gives health update after scare

Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about his health transformation following a serious scare last year. The Who Wants to be a Millionaire? host, who will return to ITV1 with a new series of the hit game show on 25 January, underwent heart surgery to have a stent fitted after a frightening episode.

The 64 year old TV personality and former Top Gear presenter revealed that the close call led him to re-evaluate his diet and lifestyle choices. Now, he’s embracing healthier eating habits, even replacing his favourite snacks with celery sticks.

While filming for the popular quiz show, Jeremy commented on his new routine: “My phone flashed up this morning saying: ‘you are taking far fewer steps this week than last’. I thought ‘yeah I would be as I am sitting here’. It also says you are eating far fewer sausages. I just sit here and eat celery. I am feeling better on it. I do feel very well.”

He also disclosed that he consulted a dietician post-scare, who advised him to avoid processed foods, reports Gloucestershire Live.

“I have been to see a dietician. The dietician has given me a pretty good list and said: ‘don’t eat processed food’. If it’s got more than one ingredient in it, don’t eat it. I feel great,” he shared.

Despite his health-focused changes, Jeremy is busier than ever, balancing his time between television presenting, running Diddly Squat Farm, and managing his pub.

The TV star admitted he struggles to turn down tasks, revealing: “It’s impossible. In the last break, I was writing things on the farm show, then I’ve got an issue with the brewery to be resolved, then I need a firepit for the pub, so I’ve got to work out where to get it from, then you’ve got the health and safety regulations that come with the firepit like what happens if someone falls in it. I’m busy!”

Fans of quiz shows can rejoice as Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is set to air weekly throughout January, February, March, and April.
