Former Radio 2 star Debbie Greenwood was rushed to hospital for an “unexpected” six-night stay.
The TV presenter, who started out on shows including Granada Television and Time, turned to X to update her followers on her health after dashing to Kingston Hospital last week.
She wrote: “A huge thank you to the amazing team at Kingston Hospital who looked after me so well for my unexpected 6 night stay. You were so, so kind, attentive, patient and cheerful.
“The hospital is incredibly busy – especially A&E. But still – what an we have! Thank you, thank you.”
Fans rushed to the replies section to wish Debbie the best, with one writing: “Take care Debs, I hope you are on the mend.” Debbie responded: “I am, thanks.”

Someone else said: “Sorry to hear you’ve been in hospital Debbie. Wishing you a speedy recovery.” And a third social media user echoed: “I hope you’re better Debs, I’m sorry you’ve been poorly.”
Along with working in TV, Debbie is also a wedding celebrant, and won the Miss Great Britain title back in 1984. She’s worked on a number of shopping channels including Bid TV and QVC.
Incredibly, the star’s home contains a piece of history – part of the original Breakfast Time red leather sofa, which the broadcaster gave to Debbie as a goodbye present when she left the show.
Debbie presented Breakfast Time – and still has a piece of the sofa
Breakfast presenter confirmed: “Last week I went to Debbie’s house. And it’s all true. Debbie Greenwood has a section of the original #BreakfastTime sofa!
“OK, it’s only a small section. One seat. Debbie normally keeps it in her spare bedroom. But she puts it in her sitting room for us to film.”
Debbie said on the programme: “It means the world to me. That sofa changed my life. I’d never get rid of it. Imagine all the famous bottoms that have sat on it!”
