enthusiasts were left stunned as they realised that Sam Aston’s real-life sister had a stint on the ITV soap.

Sam, who is renowned for his role as Chesney Brown since 2003, has grown up on the show, dealing with intense storylines including hostage situations, heartbreaks and single parenthood.

Over the years, Sam has won the hearts of fans, bagging the Best Newcomer award at the National Television Awards in 2004 and Best Dramatic Performance for a Young Actor at the British Soap Awards the following year. He is also taking part in hit series this year.

Interestingly, his sister Emily also shares the spotlight, having appeared on in the nineties as Becky Palmer. Since then, she has starred in soap Doctors, This Is England ’88 and Hollyoaks.

fans have been left gobsmacked to discover that Chesney Brown’s real-life sister appeared on the show. An avid fan revealed on a Facebook fan group: “Wow! ! The girl that played Becky (daughter of one of Des’ girlfriends) is actually Chesneys (Sam Aston) real sister! ! .”

Another devotee expressed: “Spit of each other ain’t they.”, reports while a third confirmed: “Now you said you can see it wow.”

Someone else declared their recognition with: “U can tell! ! ! ” and another follower remarked: “She so like him.”

But acting is clearly in Sam’s blood, as his brother Joseph previously starred as Tommy Duckworth in 2000, and another sibling, Thomas, has shown off his talents in series such as Casualty and The Bill.

In a candid chat in 2023, Sam Aston credited his family for helping him cope with portraying a dad-of-five on the cobbles. Speaking to The Mirror and various media outlets, he explained: “Because I grew up in a big family anyway, I’ve always been used to the chaos.”

Elaborating further, he disclosed: “I’ve got five sisters, three brothers. So I’m used to a lot of people being around in the house and children and all sorts. So it’s not as crazy as it sounds. I don’t think it’s as crazy as what it could be when you initially think there are four babies on set.”

Touching on personal experience, he added: “I think it’s harder if anything when there’s newborns and we were brand new to it. Because I’ve got two kids myself, maybe I am a bit more calm in that situation.”
