Redhill, a town near Reigate in , is 12 miles south of Croydon in London and part of the capital’s commuter belt.

It is often overlooked in favour of the more expensive popular with commuters, such as Henley-on-Thames, Ightham, and Hatfield.

Despite its being full of brutalist architecture from the post-1960s era, the town centre is currently undergoing progressive regeneration.

High Street is pedestrianised and adjoined by the Belfry Shopping Centre. The Warwick Quadrant offers more shops. There is also a street market each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, sometimes including a French market.

Not far from the town is Gatton Park, a private estate once owned by the Colmans (the family behind Colman’s Mustard); the house has a private chapel and a National Trust trail, both open to the public.

Redhill offers an affordable option for commuters and is one of the most practical choices in town for today’s commuters to London.
