For context, Mandy is one of thousands of residents drastically affected by the fires, which broke out a week ago and continue to burn across California.

According to the New York Times, the Palisades fire has burned over 23,700 acres and is currently only 14% contained. Meanwhile, the Eaton fire, which is the second largest, is 33% contained.

Mandy lives in Altadena and shared on Instagram last Wednesday that she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, and their three children evacuated their home “before it was too late.”

“I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family,” the actor wrote alongside a video taken from a moving vehicle showing the destruction in her neighborhood. “My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too.”

She continued: “Our community is broken but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control.”

It was recently estimated that over 5,000 homes have been burned in the Palisades alone, and Mandy is one of numerous celebrities to have been impacted by the devastation. But fortunately, it sounds like there’s a lot of support out there.

In an Instagram post shared on Monday, Mandy’s brother-in-law revealed that the “This Is Us” star and her family have been taken in and supported by Hilary and her husband, Matthew Koma, while they navigate this difficult time.

“Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a gofundme for us to help with everything moving forward,” wrote Mandy’s brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, whose home has also been impacted by the fires. “Not to mention they are currently housing my brother’s family. They’ve taken care of my entire family from the moment this began. I will never be able to thank them adequately.”

Griffin described Hilary and Matthew as “the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known.” “This is the kindest act any human could do for another,” he added.

After evacuating, Mandy gave fans an update on the state of her home, sharing on Instagram that the property’s main structure is “miraculously” still standing but “not livable.”

“We lost Taylor and griffin’s studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned,” she wrote, referring to her husband and brother-in-law. “We lost our garage and back house. Everyone we know lost everything.”

Mandy revealed that “every house on [their] street is gone,” including the one belonging to Griffin and her sister-in-law, who are “6 weeks from welcoming their first baby.”

“Feeling weird survivors guilt,” she went on. “We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thanks for everyone for checking on us and offering us help. Altadena strong.”

BuzzFeed has contacted Mandy and Hilary’s representatives for comment.
